Angela Wu, State of Washington

   Angela Wu serves the Washington State Department of Information Services as the Broadband Policy and Programs Manager. Prior to DIS, she served as the advisor to the Chair of the Governor's Broadband Advisory Council (GBAC).

Angela began her telecommunications career as a staff member to Commissioner Chong at the Federal Communications Commission. After relocating to Seattle, she provided policy and strategy consulting on wireless and international spectrum matters to international companies and represented the business interests of wireless and new technology companies (including McCaw International, Teligent, Rhythms, Inc., VoiceStream and Western Wireless [now T-Mobile]), including commercial transactional work for various technology companies (such as Expedia, Inc., and XO Communications). She has represented the business interests of wireless and advanced new technology companies before federal and state regulatory administrative bodies (e.g., E911 GPS technology before the FCC), and in carrier-to-carrier negotiations.

She recently completed a stint in the IT software industry with Infospace, successfully managing complex project teams that provided effective solutions for business issues related to wireless and data services.

Angela completed her Bachelor’s degree in rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley, holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law and is a current member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association.

Stephanie Jane Edwards, e-NC Authority

  Stephanie Jane Edwards is a GIS Specialist and Data Administrator for The e-NC Authority in Raleigh, North Carolina. Through involvement in e-NC’s diverse broadband support activities, she is given an ongoing opportunity to innovate and learn new ideas from leaders near and far, in addition to mapping broadband data across the state of North Carolina and being a part of active research. Stephanie Jane grew up in the rural foothills of central North Carolina, and studied at the University of NC at Greensboro, acquiring a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Geography before continuing in the master’s program there with a focus in GIS.  She has worked applying GIS mapping and analysis at the University of NC at Greensboro Center for Geographic Information Science, as well as in city and county government, in the nonprofit sector, and as a freelance consultant.  She has experience grant-writing to state, federal, and foundation sources for projects in the public interest, including areas of technology, health, and public art.
